School Athletics

Student Athletes wanting to participate in any APS/Hoover sport are required to have a physical. Physical forms can be obtained on line from the APS Athletics web site ,or in the Hoover Middle School Office. Athletes must have a physical completed by a doctor to try out. All physicals must be on an APS Physical Form.

Athletics Academic Eligibility

Athletes eligibility will be determined based on the student's previous Semester grades. (2.0 GPA or higher and NO F's).  This means that athletes that compete in Fall sports next year (Volleyball and Boys Basketball) will need to be academically eligible THIS Semester! This a big change in the APS policy.

Code of Conduct

The essential elements of character-building and ethics in sports are embodied in the concept of sportsmanship as referenced in "Pursuing Victory With Honor" and in the six core principles of character education: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship. The highest potential of sports is achieved when competition reflects these principles.

Please be advised the Albuquerque Public Schools has a code of expectations for all spectators participating in the athletic experience. Your cooperation in adhering to the following obligations as a spectator at athletic events is appreciated and necessary to provide the most quality experience for every person participating and to ensure the best possible environment for all student-athletes, coaches, officials and other spectators.
